The LC gets attention.
Bought my car last year and about a month later, my brother from out of state calls me. Of course, i'm driving my car on some back roads near my home on a Sunday afternoon. Now my sister I had visited saw the car, she is out of state as well, but nowhere near my brother. But, she doesn't know cars and I don't even think she asked me what it was, just that she thought it was sharp.
I never got around to mentioning the new car to my brother, not one of those guys to tell the world every time I buy a new toy.
Anyways, my brother advised he was in a parking lot and saw the most beautiful car he's ever seen. He said it had to a $100K car. His wife disagreed on cost with him so he decided to call me to ask how much it is cause he knows my last few cars have been Lexus. So, I said what it is. He says, an LC500, red. Exactly what I'm driving. He said it was a gorgeous car. I thought he was fuking with me. Maybe my sister told him about my car even though I doubt she knew the make or model, but who knows, she might have saw the LC tag ?? Anyways, I said "what you don't like it". He said no, I love it. I said, "sure you do". Now, he's kinda confused. He wants to know how much it cost. I said are you fuking with me, if you wanna know how I paid, just ask me? He said, it's not the same car as you, it's one I've never seen before. I had a SC430 before the LC and my brother knew that much.
I said dude, I own that car, and driving it right now. He said really, what color? I said red. Now he didn't believe me. So, I pulled over in a parking lot, snapped a photo and said, does the car in the parking lot look like this? he said yeah. I confirmed he was dead on the price, and I mean dead on. The sticker was $106,500 but made an offer of $100K exactly (it was out of state and the dealer added some "fluff" like mats, carbon fiber spoiler) And they accepted and I drove down a few days later. So, I told him I paid exactly $100K, so he nailed the price to the penny.
So, at least I know I got an honest answer from my brother versus the rule I always live by, if someone buys a car, tell them it's a great car, cool color, whatever because it's a big deal to them and it costs nothing to say it's nice even if it is not your cup of tea.

There's a lot of smiling and waving that has to happen when I take my LC out. I feel like a parade float around here given I live in a somewhat rural area. Thankfully, I live on a cul de sac so when I do have the car out of the garage, not many people see it.
hmmm..really ! I drive my car alot on the weekend. And to be honest, i dont see any eyes that be looking at my car or even wave or smile at me. I aint try to be an azz but this aint no lambo or a ferrari ! Just a rare limited production Lexus.
& if you're concerned about not being an "azz", don't write like one.
When I used to drive LC’s around town for my old job, I felt like a superstar. The car generated attention like a MKIV Supra or an exotic would. This was closer to when the LC had first came out.
it still has that same presence on the road. The only thing outside of exotics that had that kind of presence are the Supra, C8 Corvette, and the Viper.
