Default 2024 lc (xz100) mmc

Thank you VFD90
I'm sure some of you have seen this official chart from Lexus USA, outlining the January to December plans for the 2023 calendar year.

From what I can tell, the 2023 LC coupe and convertible have been on sale for a few months now, but for some weird reason an LC major update is coming to Lexus showrooms NEXT month. MY 2024.

Considering it does not appear to be a special edition of some sort, I'm under the impression it's the Mid Cycle Change.

Many of you LC owners might have owned other Lexus models and are familiar with what I'm talking about.

MMC is the midlife cosmetic update or facelift for most Toyota Motor Company vehicle nameplates.

The RC received such attention for 2019 and so did the LS for 2021. The most recent MMC at Lexus was the 2023 UX and the IS had its second MMC for 2021.

I'd say I'm very puzzled by the lateness of this, considering midlife updates are revealed months in advance.

Guessing this will be launched in late April for you to be able to buy and and maybe orderable ASAP.

Really doesn't make sense, but I guess we'll know more within a few weeks.

Apparently an LC Inspiration Series will also be released this September, before a 2024 RC F Launch Edition.

(Not sure why the stupid formatting doesn't allow me to capitalize my titles.)

*Doberman ears pointing up*
I am half considering trading my '18 in for a similar Last Year Made LC, whenever that may be...

🤔🤔🤔

after reading this, not sure if I should wait for MY 24 (if the rumors are true about major refresh changes coming to LC) or just go ahead and place my bespoke build order.

I have posted before that I’ve been told by my SA in January that my bespoke order of a 2023 LC may become 2024 MY instead …

A few weeks ago I was chatting with someone on Reddit who works for Lexus. He told me to expect a mid year refresh on the LC500. He wouldn't get into details but said that he was aware of it.

Edit.....
I found the reddit convo and below are some snippets of what he said:

"I looked it up and it’s mid 2023. It just says LC update mid 2023 which is usually like the IS update in 21. 25 is the electric LC super car release. I’m sure it’ll at least get wireless car play and a new touch screen. But “update” means more. Bc the LX gets a technology revision too and update is bigger than technology revision. But they still arent new models. Probably along the lines of the ES/Ux/21IS."

I believe most of us would want to see an updated infotainment system. But overall rest of the car is rock solid.

Excited to see what they offer; but in reality there isn't anything they could change or add that would make me even remotely interested in trading in my 2021 as I am pretty happy with it and its flaws.

I hope they add 360 camera, 30 more horsepower or loose 100 pounds or have both. I will trade my currently LC in a heartbeat.

I rushed to buy my 2023 for the horrible fear they may go electric (GOD forbid).

Just after ordering the CEO of Toyota stepped down because he also was against the electric move.

Ah, a relief. I hadn't seen discussion about this vehicle yet, so I wanted to bring it to the forefront. I'm very surprised how hush hush this upcoming refresh has been, because I waited for it to come, two different model years, and then gave up, in looking towards the next LC.

I never was too keen on the fact that when I test drove the LC 500, I didn't like how Comfort Access was setup, nor did I like the lack of massage seats, nor lacking Panoramic View cameras.

If a lowly RAV4 Limited at $40k has that, I would hope a solution would be designed for LC after 6 years on the market.

Thanks everyone for clearing the air and helping me see it's not bad information.

Thank you. I've heard that the Land Cruiser 300 should be updated for the year of 2025, but to be a bit conservative, I expected 2026MY.

This is supposed to add a new hybrid and correct some things.

I believe the electric sports car is not until MY 2026, some 2 years away. Next year should be RC?

I'd be surprised if Toyota is investing so much money on the 300 and 310 series vehicles, on the level of 2021 IS and 2016 LX. Stranger things have happened.

Glad to see my information on this refresh for 2024 is correct.

I believe that's a rush to judgment, but very very understandable if you didn't know about the 2024 LC. His replacement hasn't had any of his models be released yet. I would think that the first vehicles with his influence, will arrive this year or next year.

These things take years to implement and Koji Sato was president of Lexus from early 2020 to March 2023.

The first vehicle developed under him being CEO from scratch, are some 4-5 years into the future. Lexus is already developing a GX BEV for 2029, but are in the whiteboard phases.

Akio Toyota becomes Chairman of the Board, taking less of a day to day role.

This happened to Carlos Ghosn in early 2017, before he was terminated in January 2019. He became chairman and still had a say.

However, his reduced presence allowed for his replacement in Hirohito Saikawa as CEO of Nissan from 2017 to 2019 to implement a lot of goodwill and kept things streamlined, in order to improve Nissan quality even before Ghosn was arrested in November 2018.

Infiniti lost its RWD future for example, because Carlos Ghosn refused to approve a new multibillion-dollar modular RWD architecture for ICE vehicles. Now they will be Nissan+ and FWD based BEV, with only a few ICE crossovers, because the money cannot be justified.

The only new ICE vehicle from Infiniti is the LX 600 competitor in the 2025 QX80 and maybe QX65, as a fancy Murano.

Toyota is very serious about making Lexus BEV, even before Toyoda was pushed up to chairman, effective April 1st. The GX BEV was on the table for Generation 4, months before the staff shakeup.
