Default Internal trunk release lever fix/recall

I was looking to get the wipers recall done and saw that there is another recall on the trunk release lever. It was under the Recall section but doesn't say recall in the description or all cars are affected.

Did anyone get this done? What would be done on the car?

What's the technical service bulletin number for this?

My trunk has a hard time opening. Whether I push the trunk release button, the button on the remote or the little button near the license plate, my trunk doesn't unlock right away. I usually have to push it 2 or 3 times before it opens.

Seems like it may be the trunk release solenoid and I'm not sure if this is covered.

I don't know if there is a number. I found it on Lexus's Lexus Drivers website (the place where you put in your VIN and register). It shows up in Safety Recalls & Service Campaigns. I don't think it's related to the trunk release button on the outside though.

This is for the handle INSIDE the trunk. So you can't lock someone in the trunk. It's not for the button on the exterior.

Thanks for sharing. I heard about the trunk lever thing awhile back and then more recently the windshield wiper issue. Did anyone ever get anything in the mail from Lexus about this? It looks like the recall page in Lexus Drivers says to contact the dealership but when I did, the dealership told me to wait for the recall notice in the mail first. Maybe I should choose a different service advisor once again. Heh.

Wunko, my car was at Lexus of Seattle for oil change and water pump replacement on Tuesday, and the SA told me their system showed the recalls and had the recalls done on my IS350. I still haven't got the letter. I think as long as the owner's website shows the recall, the dealer should be able to perform these recalls.

In Canada at least, neither recall (the wiper or the trunk handle) has been launched yet, so it's not possible to get either one done as of yet.

Hey, NimaM. Good to know. I'll contact LOS again but try a different service advisor. I called another SA at LOS like a couple of weeks ago about the two recalls plus a TSB and he has never responded to me. Then I called LOB because I was annoyed and they told me to wait for the mail notice. lol
