My air bag light keeps turning off and on the past week.. I searched and found that they had a recall on it:

I think my car is out of warranty so is there anything I can do about it?

If its under recall shouldn't the dealer fix this for me?

My car is an 06 IS250 with 94k miles.

Any input would be appreciated.

 

If it's a recall, you can have it done free regardless of warranty. But, that recall covers the airbag that may not inflate properly. It doesn't say anything about the light. You may be experiencing something else, but you can always take it to the dealer for the recall if you haven't had it done yet and let them fix it to see if your problem goes away. Have them also do any other outstanding recalls (they can check the VIN and verify). And when you say airbag light, your not talking about the passenger airbag light right? (The one near the clock)

 

Nope I'm talking about the one on the bottom right of the cluster.

It turns on for one day and next day will be off. And then back on and off randomly.. It is pretty strange.

My car is passed the 70k mile mark...

 

^ Many people have still managed to get TSIB's done. Ask your dealer if they will do it out of goodwill, if not, call Lexus corporate and request if they will do it out of Goodwill. I find that as long as your nice about it, they will take care of you in most cases even if your out of warranty for small issues like these

Mine light just came up last week. (SRS warning light)
Sometimes is on, sometimes it's off

I'm still under warranty, so i'm taking to a dealer.
