Default 2007 Lexus IS250 Issues

So I just hit 52k with my 2007 Lexus IS250. I'm having problems with closing my sunroof. Not sure whats going on?? Anyone else having issues with the sunroof only closing 3/4 of the way. Is lexus going to charge me a arm and leg even though I'm only a few thousand miles over my warrenty??

Any advice here would be amazing!!

Also I am having weird idleing when I'm at a stop. This only happens from time to time. Any ideas on this as well?

Not sure about the sunroof, but the weird idling might be the Carbon build up issue (theres a Lexus TSB for it too) Maybe someone can post it up for you, i can't seem to find it at the moment

bring it in to see if you have done all the recalls, as for your sunroof i think you have to grease it or something, not sure

I think the idling issue has happened to pretty much every IS owner here. Get the decarbonization TSIB done you're still within the 70,000 mile powertrain warranty. Once they do that it'll run smooth as when you first got it.

On a side note, I tried BG 44K myself last year and it worked great for the idling issue. I recently got the TSIB done as well since I was approaching 70,000 miles on my 06 250.

Here's the thread for the well known rough idling issue:

Sunroof likely needs to be reset- directions are in your owners manual.

For the idling issue you will need to report it a few times to the service dept and they will eventually suggest the TSB for the top engine clean which will supposedly address the idle issue. Once they do suggest the TSB...I would suggest waiting till it's time for an oil change since they have to replace the oil about 3 times during the repair.

Talk to your SA, sometimes they let it slide if you are slightly over the warranty period. It all depends on the dealership though. YMMV.

If the dealer doesn't want to cooperate just call the 800 number, lexus will contact the dealer and you'll have it done regardless. I've seen lexus come out and pay for a trans for a 99 RX just bc the cust complained, shop & cust split 12hr labor in half.. you'll be ok... but like kurtz said... try to initialize the sunroof 1st...
