anyone with in knowlege in this area?
I have Barracuda with 40mm offset with 9.5 on the rear. I think 32mm will be kind of pushing the envelope. I might be wrong though. I also have Tein CS with about one finger gap all around. Here are a couple of pics for reference.
it think it has to do with the disk pad too........i talked to some people and 32 would be pushing it. T-rex that looks really clean, not to jock your style but i saw your pics last week and it made me decide to switch out the rims i have currently. do you have any other pics? does the 40mm tuck alot in the front?

Thanks man. As far as the front rims are concerned, they don't tuck in much at all. They are very close to being flushed with the fenders. If you're in So.Cal area, you're more than welcome to check it out in person before you make up your mind.

Is that a lambo I see in the reflection, you are definitley choosing the right friends!
I would definitely say no on the +43. You're going to be touching or too close to the spindle.
On the +40, you may clear the spindle but it would be too close for comfort IMO. With a +40 and an 8.5" wheel, I have ~3/8" clearance between the wheel lip and the spindle. With an 9" wheel at +40, you'll be 1/4" closer to that spindle leaving ~1/8" of clearance. In addition, you won't be able to put on the 'correct' width tires as they will be wider than the wheel itself.
I want to purchase 17" non-OEM rims for winter on my IS350 (currently with 18"). What specs do I have to make sure these other 17" rims have to make sure they fit over the brakes?
I'm ready to buy tires and rims, but don't want to make a mistake and purchase something that won't work.
