Default Steering Damper

As I've seen some owners overseas had installed the steering damper
Sewell Lexus provided the damper with the screws
http://is.sewellparts.com/accessorie...-2008-343.html
this is the link

what you need is the IS-F steering damper (Item No.45713-53020)

Another thing you need are two screws (Item No.90159-50199)

now since sewell sells the whole kit, just get the kit and everything needed will be in the package

step-by-step (For safety reasons, please disconnect the battery)
1-Take off the side covers of the steering column, shown in pic the side covers

courtesy of rcracer, can't find the pic so id have to borrow from you
no need to take off steering wheel, this pic is just to show where the cover is

2-Unscrew the Trox screw inside

3-Take off the airbag, disconnect the three wires were attached

4-Screw in the steering damper with the two screws that you bought with the damper

*Remember to relocate the wires under the little hook of the damper

put everything back together and you're done!
Everything can be done less than 15 mins.

Enjoy

Interesting.
In some way I solved the intermitent vibration coming from my steering wheel. I took the wheels off to clean them then put them back on and torqued them myself. I guess maybe for some reason they might have been over torqued by the tire shop.

I heard it weight 230g
suppose to be something that make the steering more tighter and heavier
since it was standard in the is-f

its only twenty something dollars so i thought I'll just give it a try

If you don't mind, can you post a link to the damper on Sewell's page.
Also please let us know exactly how it changes the steering and if it really dampens any vibration, I want this shtt!

http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/***...l=224&year=170

this is the link for the is-f steering wheel figure, as you can see the part "45713A" is in the steering wheel instead of the isx50s which is not included

http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/***...l=208&year=168

besides of the damper, I also ordered the part 90159-50199 to make sure that i have the screw to screw into
------------------------------
as for taking off the cover

pop the side covers on the steering wheels and unscrew it

but make sure to unplug the battery to make sure that unplugging the airbag doesn't cause any accidents

and there are holes already drilled in the steering wheel so just plug and put the wires under the hook

tah-dah

but I heard its not necessary to unplug the airbag so....
I'll keep this updated =)

Does the counter weight really help with the steering wheel feel?
