Default -----IS250 Retrofit is complete-----

Well I had a chance to take some rushed snapshots of the retro I completed on my IS. They are not of the best quality but these give a good idea of how much an improvement a retro can be than the stock HID system. I also have a thread on my progress also: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-progress.html

Here are some pictures. I took them in the rain so the reflection off the ground may negatively effect the true results as opposed to dry conditions. But these pictures will give you a good idea of the retrofit output.

Output:

Width is increased:

Some color demonstation. It is more colorful in person.

Retro'd headlight

Another one

The overall output is increased. Color, brightness, intensity, sharpness, and width are better than the stock ISx50 HID AFS system. The AFS and auto leveling devices are not used because of the limited space inside the headlight.

Mahcah,
that is FANTASTIC. I'll have my pics up soon too. What setup is that? RX330+e30+shield? Or Rx330+E30 hybrid? Anyway, it looks great

Not really feeling the HID fogs, but the retrofit looks good Nice ACE flanges.

sorry. Had to comment again. That looks plain awesome. I'm especially impressed by the aiming. Your rotational aim is OEM quality for sure. The headlight lenses doesn't take away from nearly as much of the output as I was expecting. I actually ended up having hidillusionz (rich from customlightz and his crew) do my retrofit, because I didn't want to mess around with my lights and I spent most of my spring break fixing up my car (recalls, tires, etc.) anyway. I'll have more on that on my own thread, but you sure beat me to it haha.

I hate to be the cheesy guy who says this, but this is what it means by color flickering. A brilliant band of color that's visible only at certain angles, not the 8000k, 12000k bulbs that people get

that looks great. Did you do the washer mod to get that extra color band? Cutoff is almost as sharp as my old s2k retro.

Yes I did do a color mod with washers. It took some time to get to the color I wanted.

I am thinking of redoing this retro with a better and different projector combo even though I do not know exactly with what; but it will be done in the future. I will start testing after more research and trail and error to find a better combo to produce even more WIDTH (namely speaking).

Okay total n00b is about to ask a question

Would it be possible to just change the projector lens and do the washer mod to get the color you want? ( i know output may not improve, but it will give us the color we want correct?)

I am assuming you are talking about the ISx50 hid projector. Even with the projector lense swap with the washer mod will not give a blue cutoff. It will actually give a yellow/orange cutoff. The reason being is because of the projector bowl design; it has a side bulb entry instead of a rear bulb entry. The side bulb entry is a bad design because it harms the width and intensity of the output. I took the ISx50 front of the projector and matted to an RX330 projector bowl (with a lense swap) and then the cutoff turned blue as noted here on the first page of this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...-progress.html
