Default 3000K HID fogs and new plate pics (56K  )

First off I'm not camera-genic so forgive me for the crappy pics. Either that or my point and click just sucks. I thought it was a good one but I get too much haze and glare even thought the day was very clear and calm. I suppose these are areas where a digital SLR shines.

I bought the HID kit from MobileHID.com and have been happy with it. After seeing the temp of the OEM fogs being up there I though for sure a yellow bulb would hold back even more of the light and make it that much hotter. Since fogs spread the beam, I needed to maintain this type of beam and didn't think it would be appropriate to change the projector to one best suited for an HID which would project it light forward only. I needed a ballast that was water resistant and sealed off the connection and bulb in the OEM housing. I also needed a harness since the ballast draws a lot of current when initially turned on unlike the OEM bulb. The main reason to go with the 3000K hid was to have more light in the immediate front of the vehicle. The OEM low beam HID projects the light out there but on black top roads and rain the road can't be seen all that well and pot holes and dips became rather difficult to determine. Since I've replaced a bunch of damaged OEM wheels on the customer's cars I was planning on doing the best I could to reduce that on my own cars.

Here is a pic with the fogs on

Here is a pic with them off

Again looking at them on

And off

Oh sorry for not clarifying it.

The GSE21 is the IS350's model code. The "S" I designated to mine is the sport pack option which is exclusive only to the IS350. The sport pack comes standard with HID,beam level and AFS. Yes it is the OEM D4S hid setup.

Heh, welcome to the club Joe! You'll see some more members of this club next week

I'm glad you like the fogs from MobileHID, I'm getting ready to buy a set myself.
