Who should I get my 3K HID fogs? From my research here, it appears that ddmtuning and hidextra are the safest bets? I'm spending a lot on the low beam HID conversion from XD (Xtreme 4300K Phillips) so don't want to go too crazy on the 3K conversion.

You can't go wrong with DDM or HIDXTRA. It shouldn't cost a lot to change/convert it....most you'll be paying is maybe $40-$60 for the ballast and bulb.

^ +1. im running 3k fogs from ddmtuning, and 6k replacement bulbs from ddm tunning.

Is one better than the other? There is a quite a price difference. I want a nice yellow color. Also I am not running a harness.

i like my ddm tuning fogs, i have a picture of them here. ill get the link. But i recommend using a harness. But thats just my opinion.

i ran it through the hole on the passenager side, its behind the headlamp. and under all the engine covers. and i zipped tied it down to the bumper support. I also mounted my ballast there.

Check out our new Volt 3000k HID Kit. The Volt kit has a proper EMI filter that will ensure you do not have to worry about radio interference or power steering failure issues like lower grade HID kits have caused some clublexus members.

The Volt HID kit is going to be slightly more expensive than the competitors however HID kits are NOT created equally.

Thanks Steve for the pics. I was looking on the Volt kit and I know it is a bit more but I am considering us, plus we are both in Canada. Btw, do I really need a harness for the fogs? The Volt kit doesn't include it right?

No problem. Just wanted to point out some of the differences that set our products aside from others.

You do not have to use a relay harness when installing a kit on the IS fog lights. We have had many Clublexus members install our product without a relay harness and the kit works great :-)

Hi Steve. I got everything installed yesterday, looks amazing!! The low beams of 5000k are PERFECT! Just a hint of blue the way I like it!! The work perfectly but wow, a lot of zip ties to make everything look clean with the harness and all.

I am having one problem however, one of the Volt fogs only catches on intermittently. Sometimes, if i give a slight kick to bumper where the fog housing in, it turns on. There seems to be a lose connection? In fact for the other fog when first installing and we were testing it, it wouldnt turn on. Only after disconnecting and reconnecting the wires it finally worked. My guess is the 9006 connection; you really have to press it in hard before it clicks and maybe I'm not pressing it in enough

I'm going to re-open the fog that is causing trouble and try to figure out the problem. I hope its just a loose connection and no problem with the ballast. I did first think that there wasn't even voltage going to unit (from some youtube videos I have seen), but then if it turns on with a kick to the bumper at times, it must be a loose connection somewhere.

Can you Steve or anyone else shed some light on what it really could be or if anyone has had similar experiences with the fogs?

Oh and I had to mount the driver side ballast underneath the air dam rather than on top of it, the washer fluid thing gets in the way, I hope this is safe.
