2008 IS350 NAV-DVD-CD-Phone Override, Plug-n-Play Kit Installed...!!
Big Thanks goes to our very own "rominl" of CL and Mark of Prestigious Society.
Attention: MOD at your own Risk!!
Today, Henry & I installed this unit in my IS350.
This kit will work on any 2006+ ISx50 with NAV & ML
It is made by Data System / R-Spec of Japan and is being imported & supplied in North America through Prestigious Society.
This Plug-n-Play kit developed in Japan, allows DVD playback, ALL NAV features, ALL Phone features and CD Album play list access while vehicle is in motion.
So far, this kit has been confirmed to work on 2007 Lexus G350, 2007 LS460 and now the 2008 IS350 with Navigation and ML Sound System
Cost: Contact sales@PrestigiousSociety.com for more information.
This kit is useful for people who want a plug-n-play solution and are not willing to perform the wire-cutting mods to their cars.
The kit will cost more than the DIY wire-cutting mod, but for some this is an acceptable trade-off.
I did not want to hack the wires on my 2 month old Lexus...
The unit performs perfectly from ALL the tests we could think to run. This covered everything from watching DVD's and using the on-screen controls, using phone features and entering address & POI queries from the NAV system... ALL while the car was in motion.
Operation: Press TV button to view DVD while in motion. Press NAVI button to access locked-out Navigation / Radio / Phone features while in motion. GPS route tracking will not be accurate while this button is active.
Press NAVI or TV again to return to locked-out state and restore full GPS tracking (takes a few seconds to return to normal).
As a side feature, NAVI button turns off automatically after 5 minutes of activation.
Also, the TV button is backlit in green and the NAVI button is backlit in red when each are engaged.
Both are independent of each other and can be operated simultaneously.

Thank You

Installation Time will be approximately 45-60 minutes from start to end.
(I highly recommend doing this with a second person to assist during the process.)
That includes taking your time during removal and installation of all the OEM console, trim panels, vent & head unit..
...with out damaging anything.!
The Vents were a complete PITA!! Lexus, what were you thinking????!!
Installation Tools: Philips, mini flat screwdriver, 10mm socket wrench with extension, 90 degree pick/hook tool, blue painters tape & patience.
Installation Overview:
1. Remove console, interior trim panels, ash tray, vent and pull out entire Nav & Radio Head unit.
No need to unplug all of the radio / nav harnesses
See these below threads for General & Very helpful details on Interior and Nav removal:

Click on thumbnails for enlarged pics..
Points of interest are circled in the pictures.
Please keep in mind these are just basic highlights of the install and not a "how to" on the Navigation Head unit removal.
2. Remove OEM signal wire and insert into gray bypass harness from new override kit.
Then plug back in head unit.
Remove OEM Navigation / DVD harness from back of radio and insert into white bypass harness from new override kit. Then plug back into head unit.
3. Insert button control wire from new kit into override circuit block and decide on mounting location for your car.
4. Reverse removal procedures and re-install your radio and trim pieces.
5. Enjoy access to DVD playback, Radio, Phone and NAV system features while in motion.

So you lost all your input data - saved locations, previous destinations, radio presets, etc. when you disconnected?
This fix is BETTER than the fixes that cut wires by a long shot and provides functionality not available even if you do cut the wires. Thanks JoeZ!

so thetv button would have no benefit unless we have the ML..
you think is we got the SL2vi it could be set up so when you press tv.. you can watch movies while in motion. of course this is for non ML navigations

i will be putting up pics tonight so joe can arrange them
ipod mp3 you can do it with vaistech, doesn't have anything to do with this override
cars with no ML we haven't been able to test it on. we have only tested it (and proven) on 3gs, 2is, and ls460 with nav and ML
for pricing, i know they are bringing in 2nd batch, price might fluctuate a bit. you can email chung@prestigioussociety.com
