Question OBD Fusion Question

Couldn't find this in any of the OBD Fusion related threads.

Does anyone know if OBD Fusion Smartphone app lets me see my ECU number? or would I need Techstream?

It doesn't. I'm pretty unimpressed with OBD fusion since I can't even read tire pressures on an '08. Lots of other stuff, but without a tablet or an Android module for the Nav screen, it's not worth a lot to me. I even paid for the OBDLink MX+ expecting to at least get tire pressures.

I believe the Carista dongle, along with its app reads ecu numbers. I remember doing it a long time ago.

Other than Techstream are there any apps/devices capable of reading the values from the OEM TPMS sensors?

The OBDlink app has all that in the menu, I can check later if it will work.

I tried using techstream yesterday but seems like my cable isn't working anymore.

Do I really have to spend over 500 British pounds for the right cable?

some have had good results using tactrix open port cable. I personally have the mongoose cable though.

OK, I just tried if I could get the tire pressures to show while connected to the car via OBDlink-MX+, and unfortunately, many of the parameters disappear once it's connected and the tire pressure is one of them

That's exactly what happened when I tried it. I even put a dashboard together with the tire pressures before the parameters disappeared and it made no difference. Apparently the PIDs for tire pressure are not present for certain IS F models.

How much did it cost you for the mongoose cable?

Mongoose Plus MFC3 is $495 on Amazon right now. I got one with Bluetooth (discontinued) and it was $200 more.
