Default Recent valley plate cost?

So my 2011 ISF (72,000 miles) was diagnosed by Lexus as having a radiator coolant leak and valley plate leak. After reading through many posts here, I see this has been a common issue with the ISF (and others).

Valley plate repair with labor is quoted at $3,300. Has anyone else had this done recently? Seems close to outrageous

Radiator leak repair quoted at $1,795. Searching for second opinions right now.

What all are they including in the repair? If they break a bunch of stuff, or expect to break a bunch of stuff, then their price might be reasonable. If they don't, it sounds high.

$1800 was what they charge me but broke the wire harness on top of intake manifold. Told me was old n brittle to buy it and they would put it on for free and they did.

Subscribed. Still blows my mind the different prices & different answers you get from Lexus dealerships down the street from one another. I wish I had the experience/confidence to do this repair myself but I don't - I'm lucky enough to be able to tap a friend on the shoulder when the time comes. All three dealerships within 20 miles of me have screwed something up at least once with my ISF.

That's guaranteed every time. That cover can't be removed without breaking it IME. I've just have one on hand in case I ever need to remove the manifold again.

Quote is just for initial parts and 14 hours labor for valley plate and 4 hours labor for radiator. 220/hr labor rate (yikes). Told me over the phone that anything broken would be covered by Lexus for free.

Still waiting to hear back from two other Lexus shops. My go to third party shop is booked until 5 April. This is in San Diego, CA

Yes I live in Washington and I had 2 separate Lexus dealerships quote me and both were $3,500+ for valley plate repair. So I ended up doing it myself..

Yikes! $220/hr! My dealership it at $150/hr. The last quote I did on an LS460 was around $1850, but my service manager has drawn a hard line that we need to prepare customers for possible additional cost on broken injectors. We had been taking care of them if they broke, but its just too expensive and sometimes its just unavoidable.

Yeah when I did mine, when I unplugged cylinder 4 primary injector, the plug just came off the injector. MyLparts came in clutch with the cheap replacement and discount code! $270!

There's a way to remove the connectors that will not damage the injector. Sorry to say, you need to be more careful. I removed mine with stork pliers and didn't break any injectors, but did break the lock mechanism on some. I had connector bodies in reserve to deal with this, so it wasn't a big deal at all. Damaging the injectors themselves isn't the norm at all.

I was careful, I got the other 7 just fine. Just I have over 175k Miles and everything is brittle, not to mention I was only doing the valley plate cause the last owner when he repaired it at 155k only lasted 15k miles before it started leaking again

Correction** the plug didn't just come off the injector. One side of connector became loose and wiggly.

Going through this now w/my 2011 (55k). Local Lexus dealer quoted about $1650 to fix. I picked up an extended warranty when i purchased it in May specifically for this issue so I'm out the $50 deductible.
