ISF Purchase - link inside
Hi all,
Longtime Clublexus member and lexus owner. Have a 2016 GS350 F-sport.
Have a deposit on this car, planning to pickup in a few days. A little nervous going from a 2016 to a 2012 and the mileage on the ISF.
Any and all thoughts/comments on the car itself and the price, etc. is welcome.
Thanks in advance.

Glad you have a deposit on that car before you posted the link, lol! SUPER rare (568 made in 2012 iirc) and well worth the price of admission. 64k miles is the exact mileage I have on my '12 and it tells and drives like it's 99% new!
For piece of mind, get Lexus to do an inspection on it, but I'd say check Carfax and if it checks out, buy with confidence!
And trust mez even if your GS350 was a 2020, you'll like the F WAYYYYY more, lol👍😉

Looks like a nice find, rare MY12, rare color, single-owner, no mods, relatively low mileage, at current market price.
Saw your post about dealer PPI being less than expected. For mine, they filled out the CPO inspection form. It is a decent filter, but they still missed some stuff I would have liked to have known.
Will you or a representative be able to visually inspect the car on a lift before you conclude transaction? Does not look flood damaged from photos, but something to be aware of for car that spent substantial time on FL's Gulf Coast.
Ask them to cold-start so you can listen for distinctive header leak sound. Not a reason against making the purchase, but an expensive repair and it is always nice to know.
Have you run the VIN on Lexus Drivers website to get more insight into service history?
$0.02

Thanks, yes I ran the records and they looked good. Except the previous owner used aftermarket parts at the dealership. I found that off. Didn't think of the flood issue. Not sure how to look for that.
What exactly does the header tick sound like and how much is the repair?
What about the wheels? Do they look OEM or powdercoated?

Here is a normal, high-CCA battery start:
Repair cost varies depending on aftermarket vs factory manifolds/headers and optional preemptive maintenance. Since front sub-frame must be "dropped", manifold replacement requires 6-10hrs labor depending on mechanic's expertise. Great opportunity to replace starter and engine mounts while in there. OE manifolds command high prices when recycled due to high quality of integrated catalytic converter.

From: Under an IS F since 2008
I’ll be honest… This appears to be a very clean example of a 2012 IS F it has a:
DATE OF FIRST USE JANUARY 4, 2013
If all checks out upon physical inspection, this is a very good find..!!
Try to look for any reconditioned / painted body panels or bumpers..
Verify all glass panels and windshield say “Lexus”
Also, it looks like it still has the original Port Installed PPF on the Fenders & Hood which is a great sign..!!
The wear & tear looks minimal on both exterior & interior.
Just check out the drivers door card by the grab handle on the interior..
Good Luck

Got my 11 with just under 60k for a bit less, but the price is pretty fair assuming everything's done that needs to be done. If the brakes haven't been taken care of I'd want them to handle that, and maybe oil, filter, cabin air filter and all that jazz if it's due.
You could maybe get them to come down slightly, but if that's the color you want must I'd go for it. There aren't a lot below 70k miles on the market at any time, and many end up offering less than promised once the PPI is done. If it all checks out I'd have no regrets going for it.

Given the mention above of it being scooped up from FL I'd guess they're trying to make up a bit for whatever they paid. I did negotiate mine down a bit because the dealer had it for going on 3 months I think. They are rare and I still think it's worth it but don't let all of us talk you into it if you're not comfortable. That's honestly more of the market price I'd expect in Cali or WA than anywhere on the ice coast.
I'd assume you can get the deposit back if needed, and since they know you're serious you could always ask them to come down a bit or walk away. Maybe tell them you're going to take the weekend to be sure. Two dealerships I talked to came down $1k after I told them I wanted to think about it. Another is still calling me about one I looked at that hasn't moved.
If the PPI was clean at least you know it's mechanically sound and what you're looking for. Don't stress about it, take a little time if it's not 100% what you're feeling.

Great color, looks clean. 64k is nothing for an ISF, I wouldn't be concerned as long as the car gets a clean bill of health on the PPI and has good records. Aside from space, I think you'll enjoy the ISF way more then the gs350. I sold my loaded 2015 Q50S and bought a 2013 in Oct and no regrets, love the thing and it has all the creature comforts I need in a car.
