Immobilizer Issue??
Last night I was running some wire and had the doors open for at least 30 minutes. Afterwards, the car will not start. This is not the first time this has happened. I always end up disconnecting the battery for a minute which I assume resets everything and then I can get it to start.
I've read through numerous posts and didn't see anything that I thought shredded some light on this particular issue.
I have all lights, bells and whistles and the battery read 12.2V. After the reset, everything is fine...until I do it again.
I'm still learning the quirks and nuances of the car so bear with me.
What should I be looking at?
Thanks in advance.

The battery read 12 volts, but the car will not start and 30-40 minutes with the doors open isn't draining the battery.

IMHO, you're playing with fire. Read this thread:

Owner finally got it fixed, but it cost an arm and a leg. If you plan to leave the doors open for an extended period, I'd recommend hooking up a charger to maintain voltage while you do this. If you turn the ignition to ACC (not ON or START), it will time out after about 20 minutes and shut off.
I have left the doors/trunk open on mine for relatively long periods but I've never experienced what you are seeing. I also use LEDs for interior lighting, so the current draw is pretty small compared to the factory incandescent bulbs.
How confident are you the battery you have is in good shape? I've had issues with lead/acid batteries and plate sulfation in the past and I've seen it cause weird problems like this.
