Default Starter issue?

My dad has an ‘09 ISF that has been put away for the weather. He went to fire it up today to drive it and the car barely cranked and didn’t start. I then hooked up my ‘01 Audi S4 to the battery and the starter just clicks once. We tried jumping it with a jump box and still nothing. When I checked the battery it only had about 11.9 volts in it. That’s not enough to start it right? But when I hooked up my S4 it was cranking out over 14 volts. Wouldn’t a dead battery make it rapid click? Or is it different for push button start cars? What do you think happened to it? Do Lexus cars of a proper way of jump starting?

If the car has been sitting for a while, I'd lean more towards a bad/discharged battery, than the starter

Slow charge overnight, then try it.

Try this:

If the engine turns over, it's battery. If not, it's starter Bendix.

Put a new battery in it before doing anything.

That's exactly when my starter died. New battery install. Really maddening coincidence for sure.

11.9v is a sick battery. The battery plays a crucial role in vehicle electronics beyond just starting the car. Get a new one.

100% sure you have a bad starter. Welcome to the club. Mine almost left me stranded 3 hours away from home after 15 minutes of clicking and battery almost dead it started by shear luck. When I got home I already knew it was the started since my battery was perfectly healthy. My car only had about 110k miles if I remember correctly. Rockauto has Denso staters for a cheap price compared with Lexus.
