Default Trouble Codes C1201 and P0986

Hello everybody, my ISF has two trouble codes and a weird idle, and reverse gear takes about 5 seconds to engage.
Codes are C1201 (Engine Control System Malfunction) and P0986 (Shift Solenoid E Control Circuit High).

Do you think these codes are related ? I don't think so, but I don't know why idle is suddenly weird, past saturday I've done a 600 miles trip and engine runned perfectly. But near the end of the trip, 8th gear didn't always engage, so Solenoid E is probably the problem for this, but haven't got any problem with reverse untill today.

Do you know which one is the Solenoid E ?

Thanks for your help F brothers

I have information and diagnostic steps I pulled from Alldata and a scanner about these two codes. PM me if you think it would help and I'll send

Hi, got some news. So, with the help of BlckGhst for these two codes, the C1201 appeared because of the P0986. Solenoid E is the solenoid SR, and works for all gears when you look at the informations about the AA80E.

I've made 3 kilometers with the car to go to a friend's garage to put it on a lift, and lost almost all gears, just 3rd and R worked ...

After replacing solenoid SR, levelling oil transmission and clearing codes, car runs perfectly fine immediatly. Done almost 300 kilometers since, without any issue.

Thanks a lot to BlckGhst

You're right about this forum and members, save me from a headache because here in France, almost no one know this car and problems that can happen (less than 100 ISF were sold here ...). You guys know a lot of things about the ISF and it's a pleasure to learn those things
