ECM or EVTS?
I am one of the lucky ones that got one for free, kind of.
I am having an issue that I am having a hard time figuring out and the shops cannot figure it out.
The check engine light comes on,
then it starts to idle rough
I lose power assist with my brakes
acts like TPS is bad
then over time it will not shift into 4th gear
Is it the Engine Variable Timing Solenoid?
Or The ECM
I know the ECM was rebuilt 3 years ago,and all of the maintenance was kept up on the services for the engine and tranny.
I also know that when the ECM reads different trouble codes it will disable the transmissions ability to shift into 4th gear.
With an multi meter I checked the EVTS front and rear, the rear was not getting any reading from the harness.
I reset the computer and it runs fine for about 50 miles and then starts all over again.
I am stumped.
Any suggestions or solutions?
Is it the ECM or the EVTS?
