brake fluid recommendation for daily driver
Can someone tell me how true this is... some high perf brake fluid is best suited track cars, as it should be replaced every 6 months. I'm looking to replace pads and fluid soon and I don't track the car. I would like a pad that is a little more aggressive than stock, and need a fluid recommendation. I don't want to be changing fluid every 6 months.
Thanks,
Jeff

OEM Toyota DOT 3 is what I use for the ISF. Daily and track.
For track duty, unless the car has been completely modded for serious track duty only and has repeated high speed braking zones, normal brake fluid will do fine as long as its replaced often.
For a daily driver, brake fluid can be replaced every 20-30k.

Worth a look to find the right brake fluid for your application.

Honestly, after looking at the information on all the fluids and poking around in the links - many are not working as intended - it looks like it's really hard to beat AFCO HTX for performance AND affordability. It's about half the price of Castrol SRF (which is clearly the best of the best with a price to reflect this) and has a wet boiling point higher than the minimum dry boiling point for DOT 4. Unless someone can point me to a reason why I wouldn't like this stuff, I think it will become my new standard fluid for everything I drive. Wilwood EXP is right up there with it in price/performance at less than half the cost of Castrol SRF and a wet boiling point of 417F. Doubt anyone here could go wrong with either of these.
