2010 Lexus ISF - bluetooth streaming does not work. Using iOS11. Any fix for this?
I am a proud new owner of a 2010 Lexus ISF. I love the car thus far. Anyway, I know the car has Bluetooth streaming for music. However it does not work as the option to use the bluetooth streaming is greyed out and cannot be selected. I am using iOS 11. Bluetooth calling works, however. While I can still play music through the USB port, I sometimes prefer to use bluetooth because I can connect to my charger with a higher power output (if I'm using Waze and other apps with a lot of power, the USB port doesn't supply enough power to charge while using). Plus I can leave my phone in my pocket.
The car is 9 years old and I'm guessing the map and software was last updated a very long time ago, if it ever was. Would updating the map and software, if there is an update available, fix this problem? Are there any other potential fixes? Anyone else with this problem?

I'm not on iOS but have a 2013 w Nav. You might just go into the HU and do a complete reset to return it to the default values. Then remove the car data from your phone and start over.
In short the two need to pair two systems. The phone for dialing/contacts and the media content. On occasions when I walk away w phone and break the connection, sometimes it only pairs one or the other. Pretty rare it screws it up tho.
On android there is an option in bluetooth settings to pair only calls or media and this is true of the cars system too. If after you restore the connection, verify both are enabled on both units.
If still no help allow a friend on older technology to pair to the car and verify it's OK.

I think you have to add the phone as a "harddrive" connection in the settings. If I recall correctly, just adding your phone as a bluetooth device is not sufficient. I've for a iphone and a 2011 ISF and stream podcasts, pandora, etc without any problems. Check out the owners manual, should help too.

My phone which was already set up there for Bluetooth calling was selectable, and I simply connected my car to the Bluetooth connection “CAR MULTIMEDIA” when prompted
The 2010 - 2012 Lexi will pair up to four (4) phones and up to two (2) BT Audio devices, your phone is now one of each.
Note that after you add/subtract contacts from you phonebook you must open Contacts in the Phone menu and tap Replace
to update the cars list of your numbers.
