Default Problem pairing Nokia E71 with my 2010 RX350

1 Pairing with the Nokia E71 works

2 After pairing the phone gets fully connected. I can make phone calls and the phone's contact list becomes visible on the car's display.

3 When I shut down the car and restart, reconnection is established for about one second, but then disconnects immediately.

4 After a second shut down/restart of the car, no reconnection happens (even not for a second)

5 The only way for it to work I need to pair the phone each time i get into the car.

I never had a problem with my 2007 RX350 using the same phone and I don't really feel like changing my E71.

Any Clues ?

Thanks, Haim

I have the same problem with the E71, my nokia works with my audi, but not the RX 350. Other phones work fine.

Would appreciate it if anyone can figure out how to keep it from disconnecting everytime I get it to connect.

Thanks!

Default Nokia E71

You should let Lexus knows and demand a Fix.

They may just do something about it.

The More People tell them, the Better

Lexus last Email responds was:

"We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with the incompatibility of your cell phone and your Lexus vehicle. It is through correspondence such as yours that we are able to continue to improve our product and service, and we sincerely appreciate the time you have taken to bring this matter to our attention. Your email has been documented here at our National Headquarters office.

Is there something specific you are seeking from Lexus at this time? We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you"

Talked on the phone to Lexus Customer Care, they said according to the website, the Nokia E71 is not compatible, but the E71x is more so.

Apparently, the 2010 RX has a Gen 6 Bluetooth, newest in all the Lexus line.

I updated my firmware, but it was no help, same connect/ disconnect issue occurs.

Guess this doesn't leave many more options... Any other ideas?

There once was a Lexus web site that listed all the model phones, along with the cell phone company, that was compatible with the Lexus Bluetooth system. I think it even listed which phones you could upload the complete phone book at one time, and those you could upload one number at a time to get them all into the system.

Gen 6 Bluetooth Or not, The same phone worked on my 2007 RX
The RX 2010 or the Gen 6 Bluetooth SHOULD be backwards compatible!!

The Nokia E71 is just like a blackberry, and I use it like one.

There is no reason I should spend money and change my phone.

Lexus can Fix it, they dont have to reinvent the wheel.

Keep Putting on the Pressure, Thats my ideas.

They called me from Lexus US, and Told me to go to a a specific dealer so they can see if there is a Fix.

p.s. Why would I want the E71X and be lucked in with AT&T? and its a Lesser phone.

It's possible this could work for you. According to the published literature, my phone shouldn't work anymore either. But the technician printed out the instructions from the previous Gen 2 for 'my current phone' and they worked perfectly as he transferred the contacts. Just a thought to try.

Angry They don't call it a problem, They use the word Issues

Instructions from the previous Gen 2? where did he get it?

After being at the Dealer, Lexus told me to get a new Phone!

After Telling to get a new Phone, They asked me "Is there anything else we can do for you?" as if the first problem was fixed!

They don't call it a problem, They use the word Issues

So much for customer service.

If there is a Single F*** up with the 2010 Models, it has to be the Bluetooth.
Lexus has a very short List of phones that will pair with the system.
Not a Single IPhone is on the list most of Nokia’s phone will not work or will only have a few functions.
Two out of my three phones will not pair up and they all did with my older Lexus.
I did talk to HQ and they told me to get another phone.
They do not even call it a problem; they use the words issues and concerns.
Hell, It’s a PROBLEM.

My Nokia E71 will not work at all and that is my Mobile Office
1 of my 2 Samsungs is working but not all functions.

I've (again) reported this problem with cellphone pairing to my dealer and to Lexus.

Lexus support said "this is a characteristic of the vehicle."

I replied that to us owners, it's a defect.

Other owners should keep reporting this problem with the hope that Lexus will get the message.

Tell it to Lexus - Make it Lexus's problem and not yours.
They have a very short list of phones, much shorter then any other Carmakers
NO IPhones on the list, only 2 Nokia, only 4 Blackberries, Are They for Real?

They should Stop Using Cover up Words such as, “characteristic of the vehicle”, “issues” or “concerns”. When a device is not working as Advertised, It is a Problem.
It should never me The Owners Problem but rather the Manufacturers Responsibility to FIX.

Shame on you Lexus, Is this a characteristic of the Lexus?

Keep bugging them, let people know, Post it on more websites. It’s the only way.

More phones work than are on their list. My Sanyo SCP-7050 was on last years least but not the 2010 RX list. The GURU in the service dept pulled up last years instructions and transferred all my numbers over with no problem. It works just fine. And that includes the Blue-tooth function.

Default short list

I know that many more phones works that are not on the List.
The List is there to cover there ***, if your phone don’t work they can always refer you to the Short List.

The Bluetooth phoen option is much more important to me then let’s say the MP3 player or the net in my trunk.

I am pissed off at them and I can’t stand the language they use to cover up a PROBLEM

“characteristic of the vehicle”, “issues” or “concerns” = PROBLEMS

“Lexus Customer Satisfaction” is the place people call when they are not Satisfied, why would they call it “Lexus Customer Satisfaction”?

I would call it “Lexus Customer Problems” or “Lexus Customer Solutions”
Or maybe just Lexus Customer Service?
