Default Gt500 rotors on lexus is f brakes

Wanted to know if anyone has ever attempted this? This was out of curiosity since many doing projects cars usually use Jeep OEM Brembos on project cars because it was way cheaper. After checking the rotor sizes the IS F brakes were bigger by .2" than the GT500 brakes. (Front). What do you guys think?

To what end? Save money? Are the GT500 rotors cheaper? You can get OEM ISF rotors on eBay for like 7 nickels.

Two Piece Rotors for a GT500 is $800 compared to $1,200 on an IS F. Wanted to see if I can do it. #cheapo

What two piece rotors for the ISF are you talking about that cost $1200?

The idea of trying to mod an ISF on the cheap is bizarre to me. These cars are very expensive to mod. Might as well do it right.

I could build a track ready fiesta ST, with the cost of the car, for the amount of money that has been invested in my car. If budget is an issue, an ISF is not the car you want to build. Not bragging, I didn’t buy most of those parts. Just giving perspective.

a big turbo kit for a civic type R is about 6k from full race, and they are top end turbo kits. A top end coilover for this car is 4K easily.

This is out of curiosity... Besides I already have a new Diff (LSD) being installed on my IS F and already planning to get some RR Racing stuff after. Example, Obviously I can blow my cash on a $2,000-3,000 exhaust if wanted, but is it worth it? Not for me. Just looking for more cost effective options... Nothing wrong with saving money for other things.

On that note, I'll like to stick to the topic I asked.

Ok. I’ll bite.

I think Gt500 rotors fit ford GT500s. ISF rotors fit ISFs. This is probably the only response anybody here can give you. You may take that as sarcastic, but it’s factual.

You’d probably get brake pad wear that was 0.2” from the edge of the pad?
FYI - the RR Racing 2-piece front rotors are on for $900.

Yeah GT500 rotors run a bit smaller. Thanks for the suggestion also!

I haven't confirmed but the GT500 rotors also likely have a different offset than the IS-F rotors and almost certainly have a different (smaller) hat diameter since they use a D1001 pad shape which is a taller annulus compared to the D1365 the IS-F uses up front (55mm for the D1365 vs. 59.35mm for the D1001) on a smaller diameter rotor. Interesting idea but likely not at all worth the effort to make it work. FWIW we are working with Stoptech to come up with a direct replacement 2-piece AeroRotor that is targeting ~$800-900/pair sale price.
