Replace rotors?
I am putting in new pads and I’ve noticed that the rotor surface looks and feels uneven. Rotor thickness is fine. Should I be replacing the rotors or am I fine slapping on new pads with the way the rotor looks?

Mine were just like that + all the holes had cracks coming off of them when I swapped out mine for new ones. Good question though, have no clue why they have that undulation on so many we see??
Resurfacing (turning, machining) rotors is never a good idea. It just removes material. If your rotors are structurally fine, no cracks, and you meet the thickness tolerance, just replace the pads. BTW, don't forget to bed in your new pads.

Resurfacing rotors can and should be done when you are putting on new pads and if they are still thick enough. Turning rotors should take off very little material. Many years ago when I used to do it we would measure them and take off very little to get them smooth. If they are too thin or have cracks then replace them obviously.

The rotors in the pictures need nothing done to them. Be sure they're clean and more than the minimum thickness, slap in new pads, bed them properly and they'll work just fine for anything including track duty. AMHIK.

Just no. Resurfacing is almost always a bad idea. The worst rotors I ever had on my car were resurfaced by someone before I bought them. Never again. The only proper way to resurface a rotor is to centerless grind it, and finding someone to do that is pretty hard at any price. That's how they come from the factory.

Hmm we have some people saying replace them and others saying no need to replace. Interesting. Lol. I just came from Lexus and they didn’t even say anything about the rotors. They just said my pads were at 4mm and needed to be replaced.
