Default Sikky vs. PPE Headers

I bought the first gen Sikky headers. Had problems with their aftermarket dipstick, ended up bending the original and it started leaking oil. Went with silicon patch jobs until it started leaking too bad. Also, after install it was evident there was an exhaust leak, most times would seal after it warmed up.. Called Sikky, and asked to purchase another of their aftermarket dipsticks. They said they don't stock them anymore. Asked for the manufacturer's number and they refused to provide it. Trying to be a loyal customer I asked for a discount on the second gen header. Their answer, "No."- Wow... Car ended up sitting for a long time, too bummed to put effort into it. Called RR-Racing, got the PPE hesaders installed and it's badass. Bought many products from RR-Racing, great customer service- good to know there are good people in this field after getting shafted by Sikky- i waited a while to post this as I didn't want to drop F-bombs in the post. If you're looking for headers, I know one place not to go.

I don't know much about headers but shouldn't those be machined across the face after welding? Even with a fixture that steel will bend during welding, bent steel will never seal no matter how tight those bolts are. Just my un-qualified opinion.

OP, who installed your v1 headers?
Anyhow, I've been fine/happy with my v2s. Sikky did all the work in a few days, including welding in the gesi cats. I do hear that quality of the v2 headers are much better. Good luck with the new PPE headers! I hear they're nice as well!

pPe helped me trouble shoot issues with my O2 sensors and I’m not even the original buyer of the headers. That’s great service.

Flanges should've been cleaned (sanded flat) prior to install. Our cars use a MLS exhaust manifold gasket, the surfaces have to be smooth to properly seal.

One other note, speaking of PPE quality, I can honestly say we have never seen a PPE header failure/crack EVER, and they’ve been making headers for the ISF for a while now.

Even tracking them at 600whp we haven’t had any issues.

I got under my car and looked at the headers and exhaust. Great quality. Probably best I’ve had on any car.

I've had my jet hot coating PPE headers installed for 6 years now. I DD my car 90K miles its FBO with RRR TUNE. No issues whatsoever by far the best power Adder for an ISF. Here's a video I did of shop installing the headers 6 years ago.
