Default Suspension issue - bent shock?

Hi guys, so I’ve been experiencing squeak in the front right corner. First thought it was dash so took it to Lexus. The found that the top mount is not center and most likely rubbing which makes it squeak. Their need to do further investigation (for £189) but suggest the shock and top mount should be replaced (£1500).
the car drives straight like an arrow and does not pull left or right. My question is, is anyone here looking fat the below picture can comment what could of caused the shock not sitting center day in the mount ?
Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

My first comment must be: 1.5 k quid for replacement of a single shock?? TBH, i haven't checked the currency markets today, but you're being overcharged. Is your shop performing additional service?

As to the shock not being centered, please remember that they're wear items. Have you owned the car for very long? What's it's service history? Does your car have what we refer to in the states as a "salvage", "rebuilt", or "branded" title?

Yeah sounds expensive, it’s a quote form Lexus dealership. I’d never get them do it. I can do it myself. Only went there as I had an airbag recall and asked them to check it out for me.
so yes, the car had a small incident, previous owner hit the curb pretty badly with front right wheel. I’ve seems the photos it didn’t look that bad at all. Wheel, strut, brace, hub, wishbone have been replaced. No structural damage, no welds etc. Lexus says it could be that the parts are non genuine hence not everything sits right.. the strut is Tokico.
The car drives fine, only the squeaking is annoying! I don’t want to replace anything unles it poses a risk but luxeus says it’s safe to drive.im just curious what’s causing the shock not being centered?

Isf doesn't have struts.

Was the damper in your pic ever replaced? It appears to be rather corroded.

If it doesn't affect handling, driving, etc. Take the 1.5k quid and buy headers and a louder exhaust.... squeak solved.

It could possibly be the shock tower/mounting point in the engine compartment is in fact out of alignment from the accident; however, not so much that the variance cannot be dialed out with alignment adjustments. It could also just the the rubber "bearing" where the shock mounts to the shock tower. Being rubber it has some "play" in it. To me it sounds like the dealer does not know what it is so they are estimating high, and would just go in replacing everything without really knowing what the cause is. Simply disassembly, lube and reassembly might take care of it, who knows. Just decide how you want to spend (or not spend) your money.

Anti-roll bar end links can make noise as well. Good luck with your search.
