Default TechStream - can't get into my F

Hi All,

First, please excuse me if there's a thread specifically about it - couldn't find one searching.

I bought J2534 cable and have a TechStream version 12.20.034. This setup works on my wife's GS300 (2005).

When I try to connect to my 08 ISF tho, it doesn't recognize the car automatically and suggest a massive list with 3 letter codes (tried USE, following the USE20 model code logic, but didn't work).

Has anyone been in this situation and could you advise how to get in? Your help will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Bump.

Alternatively, could you please suggest alternative software that would provide enough info using the MVCI cable?

There is a new smartphone app called "OBD Fusion" that has all lexus specific parameters and access to tall the subsystems for a $10 in app upgrade purchase. All else you would need is a cheap OBD wifi device which you can pick up on amazon for $16.

Thanks, didn't know this existed. Guess I'm living in the stone age. Just bought the app for Android, $3.99. Got the OBDLink LX for $54.95.

Just cancelled the OBDFusion purchase. It seems the OBDLink LX comes with the OBDLink app. It appears that the OBDLInk app is exactly the same app as the OBDFusion app, but only works with OBDLink devices.

Thanks for the replies all!

I have no issue purchasing an application and Bluetooth device, but it'll take time (will do anyway). However, I see many posts in the ISF subforum mention Techstream and it must work for that car.

Maybe the issue is the cable because several services could not connect with generic software.

Anyone using OBD - USB cable with success? And what's the cable specifically?

Running pirated software with a crappy cable is never a good plan if you want high quality data. You have two choices - do what Rafi suggested, or buy a proper subscription to TIS and buy the Mongoose Pro cable. X-Horse is pretty weak sauce unless you just want to do very simple tasks and don't mind waiting a very long time for it to respond. AMHIK. Oh, yes, I bought the subscription to TIS and the Mongoose cable so I am fully legal. No issues anymore.
