Default Moving onto the RC-F?

Wanted to see how many F owners are already looking into making the jump. This probably doesn't apply as much for those who recently purchased or bought used, but as an OG 08 owner I'm keeping a very close eye on the RC-F. Which also means I should drive my ISF more before I sell it

I see a lot of F => GTR threads, but that's also a big jump in terms of $$$. ISF => RCF seems like a logical step. I don't know if there will be a 3IS -F but I have always preferred a coupe anyway. Don't want to turn this into a comparison thread, but I'm not sure about other options... Cayman S = downgrade. 991 = $$$. Used GTR = Abused. M3/M4 = Possibly. RS5 = Pretty but overpriced. CTS-V = Beastly but not my style. C63 = Waiting for next gen.

I only have my eyes set on a GTR or a GT3.

The more and more I think about it, the RCF is more of an upgrade interior-wise than anything else. Interior is probably the best I have EVER seen in any car but performance wise it doesn't seem to be an extensive upgrade from the ISF.

I was hoping to make the jump, but at $71k there are other options I would rather have. A used 997tt for starters...

I think the RC-F has too much crap going on. It's like a boy racer car. It's totally lost it's style. The IS F has always been that car that people have said is a wolf in sheep's clothing. People look at it, know it's different, but it's not over the top.

This RC-F is over the top. It's like…take everything aggressive about cars we like, and throw it all into one. It just doesn't work. Look at the previous gen IS…pretty much everyone liked it, and then the F model came…slight changes here and there, lots more power…it was a winner. I think you won't see that many sales of the RC-F…especially if it's near 70k. You can get a Porsche Cayman S…sure it's got less power, but I can bet you it drives way better than the RC-F. Porsche knows what they're doing in terms of driving excitement and dynamics. It's agreed by so many people that if they put the 911 engine into a Cayman…it's game over as far as performance goes for the 911. But of course, that will never happen.

I'm sticking with my IS F. Next car I want is a 2007/2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RS or a Porsche 911 964 chassis.

I can see the RCF being near the very top of my list of consideration for my next car, but I am not realistically looking to buy a new car until 2016 at the earliest, so we'll see. I've only got 34,000mi on my ISF as it is.

And of course I have kind of an alternative plan to get a pickup truck, a used Tacoma to be specific, and just keep in the ISF for even longer. That'd certainly be the most economical move.

I definitely wouldn't do it. Too many coupes that I would prefer over the RCF. There are cars like the 997.1 turbo, GTR, C6 zo6, Gen 4 viper....

I still have two plus years of my platinum warranty left on the F so I'm not getting rid for at least two more years. And like Slay said, the late model Vipers are bad a$$, so I'd go that route before I went the RCF route.

^^ sure this technology is cool! But shouldn't your eyes be on the road! I will most likely buy a 2dr 2seat only true sports car next.

That is

I actually watched it several times.
I miss my F big time, long story short.. bought a F in USB and had the JoeZ fitted, Had the first set of PPE Headers in Australia fitted, Tein coils, the FULL Toms brace kit.. was a beast, fell in love with a girl who claimed "Your car is too loud.."

Sold it and got a 2013 GS450H, F sport.. nice car but nothing on my ole F..

But seeing the RC-F makes me want it all over again..

Any one know if its the same 5.0L from the ISF just reworked a little.? so PPE headers should bolt straight on right .?
