Dear everyone.

I am seeking for help with my LEXUS IS 250 f sport, there is a bad smell from AC since 3 days only when i on the ac every time. After it's on the smell goes. Does anyone have an idea what issue it can be and what action i have to take?

Thanks in advance

Maybe bad cats, or bad fuel. But let's be real - you're in the IS-F forum. If you don't have a 5.0L V8 you've got trash. Only milk and juice comes in 2 liters.

Lol at these responses .wrong forum but more than likely you have a clogged drain above the transmission. Get it cleared out and do an ac treatment. Possible mold growth.

Does it smell moldy or like mildew? Potentially your water drain is clogged, its a small hose on the passenger side of the fire wall that points down. There are foaming agents that help clean as well.

Inspect your cabin air filter, it is behind the glove box, there is a trap door you can remove and get access to. Look for debris. If the smell is like rotting flesh it is possible a rodent has gotten into the AC system, the filter stops them most times, but not always

A product like this will work very well, it is sprayed into the evaporator drain(the rubber hose that is on the fire wall)
Amazon Amazon

And for your cabin air filters, make sure to get a carbon one, similar to this-

Did you just assume my gender?

I sexually Identify as an Attack Helicopter. Ever since I was a boy I dreamed of soaring over the oilfields dropping hot sticky loads on disgusting foreigners. People say to me that a person being a helicopter is Impossible and I’m ****ing retarded but I don’t care, I’m beautiful. I’m having a plastic surgeon install rotary blades, 30 mm cannons and AMG-114 Hellfire missiles on my body. From now on I want you guys to call me “Apache” and respect my right to kill from above and kill needlessly. If you can’t accept me you’re a heliphobe and need to check your vehicle privilege. Thank you for being so understanding.

Forgive me if I am mistaken, but the drain for the a/c evaporator is not a hose on the passenger side of the car. It is a slit rubber grommet directly above the transmission. I know that is how it is on the IS350 and the IS-F. Not sure of the IS-250. Though all three share the same chassis, I don't see why it would be in a different place than the other models.

I may be remembering wrong, Im used to everything having a hose off the firewall area, i've not had to service the IS yet, and I couldnt find anything off the parts diagram. But I did manage to track down this picture and it looks like you are right- https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...hvac-drain.jpg
