This is correct. There is an issue with the design where the sponge behind the drain actually tears or something and blocks the drain from opening. Lexus will removed the grommet and pull out the sponge stuff from there. It sucks to get to and service because you have to remove the midpipes etc to get up there. I had a stale AC smell and what I did was remove the cabin filter, buy the a/c service kit made by Wurth. and spray it into the intake in the cowl and into the vents. It kills all mold and then you release and air freshener inside the car that will also go through the vents and keep things smelling nice.
