Default Car Audio randomly stops working

Hi all,

I recently experienced an issue with my car stereo. It randomly stopped working meaning I can’t even here any sound when I navigate through the infotainment. My cousin and I checked the fuse/reset the ECU. We also took out the negative battery terminal and waited 15 min. After I started the car it still wasn’t working. Later, I turned the car off and started it again and got audio from the Bluetooth. But it kept shutting off after a few minutes or when I switched to the FM radio. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Car has about 36,000 miles on it.

It could be related to voltage issue...if you have things that are plug into your usb and/or auxilary port (cig), unplug everything and see if you are still experiencing the disconnect issue.

Do you actually have an IS-F? Your previous post were from the 3rd gen IS forum which leads me to believe you're in the wrong section.

Default 2014 Lexus IS 250 F Sport

I may have been confused or mislead as those were up until 2013

i don’t have anything plugged in. The volume *** doesn’t show up either. This is leading me to believe it could be a potential software issue

If that's the case then you are probably correct it might be software related. I made the suggestion because it seems those usb and aux output ports caused multiple issues for some Lexus 3rd gen owner. Hope you find the issue.

If you are interested...you can find the firmware to your model listed below for your lexus.
