I know this topic has been brought up in the past but wasnt sure if there was any updates on it.
I just got my ISF which has sikky headers and id assume the sikky 02 simulators, went to go through inspection and they are failing me due to 2 not ready statuses one for 02 sensor and one for evap system.
Ive been reading that a lot of people have had issues with the sikky 02 sims never showing a ready status under 02 sensor?
Should I replace with PPE or RR Racing 02 conditioner?
I called RR and they told me their conditioner would make it say ready status.
Correct, RR's sim will do the job. Or if you were considering getting RR's tune, you should just invest in that since it will also take care of the 02 sensors. Also, doesn't require tapping into the ECU, since you are re flashing through OBD.

I talked to them on the phone and he told me the tune wouldnt take care of the 02s?
He said it would keep the engine light off but wouldnt make them "ready" state?
I thought I had read that the tune would do that as well but thats not what i was told on the phone but that is why I called, I was gonna do the tune and hope it would take care of it that way and get a tune out of it lol

Here is my recommendation for Sikky conditioner : 1) Warm up the car for 10 minutes 2) Disconnect the battery (open the car door to use all the juice in the system) 3) Start the car 4) Plug in your car ScanTool to OBD2 port (under the dash) 5) Drive around (not aggressively of course and make sure you keep checking the status of all the monitors.) Drive somewhere where you can get to a decent speed (50mph) and it is easy to pull over. 6) As soon as the status of all the monitors (except EVAP, that one is not effected by your conditioner and it becomes ready after few fill-ups) is "OK" or "READY" or whatever term your ScanTool uses, pull over and install your conditioner.

Great, i was under the same impression lol. In that case i think people with the tune would have to reflash to stock then run the conditioner?

Im not sure, I keep reading conflicting stuff with the tune, one day im reading the ecu tune will keep the converter locked to 7200 and then RR tells me it wont?
Then im reading the tune will take care of the 02 light and now it wont lol
Either way, I managed to get my car through inspection with the 1 not ready status, the evap monitor finally went ready so I was good to go
Same as JSPEC, my car passes the emissions plug-in with flying colors (tune only, no conditioner). Now the visual inspection....that's another story.
Do you know what the requirements are for your state? Im in Delaware and they will pass you with 1 "not ready" monitor.
Its possible the tune is just making it so that one 02 monitor stays not ready and all the others are good so you pass like I was able to the other day? The printout they give you probably would say if they were all ready
Im not sure but I called RR racing and spoke with Simon I believe it was and he was under the impression that the tune wouldnt make the 02 sensor go "ready" status and told me I would need their conditioner.
I was hesitant on getting my smog check done right away here in CA, especially since I have heard some owners of not passing with FBO and tune under certain conditions. Mine did pass without any "not ready" status; I did check my code reader prior to visiting a smog station.
My mods are: Joe Z exhaust/intake, PPE headers with conditioner, RR Racing tune
I have discussed this with some Fs who are due for smog within the new few months, and from what I gathered, they had failed in their previous smog check for the following reasons:
-one has Sikky simulator to bypass the CEL but code reader had read "not ready"; he does not have tune and we remedied by purchasing the PPE o2 conditioner
-one has PPE headers and conditioner but CEL continued to pop up post tune, so he removed conditioner; this solved the CEL issue, but I advised that he revert back to original ECU when he is due for smog next month
-one has PPE headers and conditioner with tune (original ECU sent in with o2 sensor marked "NO" meaning bypass); he has since purchased the OBDII handheld tuner to revert back to the original ECU for smog testing
All three failed their prior smog check, so this time around we're trying to make sure things go right. But for sure here in CA, even one "not ready" status on any given item will result in a NO PASS. What a hassle afterwards.
Visual inspection is at the discretion of the smog station. As I've said countless times, keep your stock parts. I'd rather have them collect dust and cobwebs than not be accessible should something not go according to plan. As a good guy on here constantly states, CA is not the state to be in for modified cars.

All o2's are in the ready state according to the inspection paperwork.
