After the touch screen on my 08 ISF became unresponsive I was in quick need of a repair. Thankfully, German Audio Tech is located in Southern California and I was able to replace my touch screen the same day. I contacted them on a Saturday. Very Happy!! Highly recommend germanaudiotech.
Wow! That's awesome. Just had my Nav screen replaced through my aftermarket warranty a few weeks ago as well. Good to know that when my warranty runs out I have a "local" place in SoCal to take it.
Do you mind me asking how much they charged you for the repair?
It cost 300.00. I know they're are many DIYers here on CL that could do it for less but I was happy to pay someone that specializes in this. The dealer wouldn't even trouble shoot for me.
I also have an 08 and had my unit replaced once by Lexus of Austin
I had mine replaced when I had an 06 IS350 from Lexus of Austin.....almost 5 years ago (I know this exactly, as it was just after my son was born!). Now that I have a 12 F, I am sure that it will come up at some point.....
My screen is unresponsive due to a crack. The dealership will not replace just the touch screen and quoted $8,700 for the repair, ridiculous. Do you have any idea where German Tech Audio sourced the screen from? I'd like to find someone in Ohio that can do it for me but the mom and pop shops I have contacted are skeptical about the finding the part

I also bought my replacement screen at German audio tech. They don't answer their phone but the screen I ordered from them looked identical to the one that failed (except when I went to use the touch screen I noticed it had a more blue-ish color than the original). They probably get them in bulk from China. You can buy them on eBay from sellers that ship directly from China but if that sounds sketchy to you too, German audio tech is the way to go. Taking the air vents out of our cars is a pain if you've never done it before so I'd recommend taking it to someone who works on gen 2 Lexus IS's regularly (like a place that installs sound systems and head units for cars. not a mechanic).
Here's one of the videos on youtube that show you how to do it yourself once you have the replacement screen.
You will want to post (on an existing thread probably) on the gen 2 IS forum on club lexus if you're looking for someone in your area that can help replace it (there's just way more IS 250/350 owners out there so you'll have better luck there than on this IS F forum)
