Default Brake pad question

I know there have been quite a few brake pad posts, but I searched and didn't find the answer I was looking for. What pads are recommended for someone focused on low dust and low noise, keeping price in mind. I don't track my car so am less concerned with track based performance. Also, where is the best place to order them?

Project Mu NS400 seem to be the low dust same bite performance as the stock pads ................. and I would order with Matt @ Speed Freaks a vendor on here who is quick to help out members and gives great advice about all things brake related

Awesome. Thanks! How do the Project Mu pads compare to the Hawk HPS or Stoptech Sport pads? They are slightly less expensive on autoanything.

Matt at speed freaks has been awesome to work with for me. I've been asking him a ton of questions about brake pads and he has provided great info. I think I am going to pull the trigger on the Endless mx72 all around. He said they are one of the best pads for the F in terms of bite, noise, dust, etc. However, they are definitely not cheap.... over $700 for a full set. I currently have the Winmax w2 and while they were pretty quiet for the first 75% of their life, they all of a sudden became very loud! Oh yeah, and they dust like crazy!

^^^You won't regret your purchase! I love my Endless MX72 pads and won't run another pad as long as they are being made I just ordered my second set of front pads which have lasted about 2 years and close to 30k........the rears have plenty left in them so the initial buy in is high, but when you need pads again you'll only need to buy the fronts which when averaged out doesn't seem that bad for the performance you get from them. I'm honestly surprised more people don't run these pads

Thanks! That makes me feel better. How is the noise factor in your opinion? Noise is my main concern right now because I hate squealing brakes on my daily drivers. I need high performance with no noise... I don't care about anything else...lol.

I get a little squeal every now and then and would be lying to say that they are completely silent because it does happen infrequently. Might be weather dependent on the squeal, but honestly even if they do squeak every now and then (and I think it's very minor and not that frequent from my experience and climate) the performance of these pads is worth a little trade off IMO.

Hope this helps!

When i had to change my OEM pads (front only), i went with Project Mu NS400's. About 6 months later, never squeals (unlike before), very little brake dust (unlike before) and great bite for street use (dont track mine).
I was happy with what i paid for mine but im in Syd, AU so that wouldnt help you where you are based lol.
Good luck with whatever pads you decide on.

I just replaced my rotors front/rear and did project mu ns400 pads front/rear. Took a week to get as much brake dust as the oem pads did in 15-20 miles, braking feels almost same as stock as well, I daily drive my isf as well

If you want a LOT of brake dust on your wheels, get STOPTECH. I clean my wheels, drive a couple blocks, and my wheels are already coated with brake dust...almost as if I now have matte finish wheels! FML
I plan to switch to project mu ns400, someday. Can't afford them right now.

Which ones? EBC "yellow stuff" dust a lot and are somewhat noicy, EBC "red stuff" dust level is just like oem, their temperature threshold is very low, you will experience lots of fade when your driving gets spirited.
