Default Shark Fin Question

Hey guys,
I'm toying with the idea of replacing the shark fin XM antenna on my car with a combination GPS/WiFi/Cellular antenna for a vehicle tracking application. I don't suppose anyone has any pictures of what it looks like underneath the shark fin? The new antenna is a different shape (round like a hockey puck) so some areas of the roof surface underneath would be exposed. If the roof surface underneath the fin isn't smooth I may have to abandon the idea.

Any help?

I knew my pictures would come in handy one day! Here's what it looks like underneath the shark fin while I was wrapping the roof of my friend's 2IS last year.

Is that a screw in the small hole that holds it down?

I'm guessing there's a nut that threads onto that hollow conduit nipple where the wires come out and holds the whole thing down.

Yeah, the small hole behind the big hole has a nut that holds down the entire antenna fin whereas the big hole is a cutout for the antenna.

I want to wrap my roof in the future. Does the headliner need to come off to remove the shark fin or is the bolt behind the rear lighting assemly?

I removed the fin by removing the rear dome light and using a 22mm wrench to loosen the nut. Tough access, but doable.

^ Pull out the dome light and underneath there are a few clips you need to unclip then you'll see the 22mm nut that you need to loosen. Taking the actual antenna out was kind of difficult because there are two metal retainer clips on the inside that inevitably will break when removing the antenna. I've wrapped 3 2IS and have never to managed to save any of the clips. I'm sure they do nothing.
