How do I find out what size wheel studs the IS-F uses? I was unable to find any information through google. (maybe i'm not searching the right things)?
I purchased new wheels and they are currently being made, I also bought titanium lug nuts to go with them so I'm thinking about completing the trifecta and getting wheel studs while I'm at it but I don't know what the size is.
The first two are real titanium are cost an arm and leg. I'm assuming M12 is the correct size and the other number is the length? So the length doesn't matter? I am so confused. Let me know if any of these will fit on our IS-Fs. I'm leaning towards the bottom link (the VMS one) since the top 2 are really pricey just for wheel studs but I'd like to know for future reference.
Also if anyone can find way better ones or better ones for a smaller price then let me know. I have no idea what I'm looking for.
Yeah, 12x1.5 is the correct size.. Though, I'm not sure about the knurl specs.. I used the extended studs included with H&R kit 30656014. I didn't see any knurl specs on those for comparison. Length is not too critical as long as they're at least as long as the OEM, and they're not too long for the depth of your lug nuts (n/a if you plan to use open ended lug nuts).
The knurl is .556 (14.12 mm) on ARP's #100-7715 stud for the IS300 (and on my F with open-ended heptagonal steel lug nuts).
That Chevy size doesn't work on Toyotas. These would shave a crapload of unsprung rotating mass, though.
*edit*: I recently ran across some info. on "mr2oc.com" listing the knurl as .558 in. for this p/n. And an overall length of 2.60", so open ended nuts required.

Reason: addt'l. info.
Does the knurl size make a huge difference? I noticed on half of them don't even specify the knurl size. And that's what I'm going for is shaving off rotating mass. The titanium ones might be overkill and way too pricey but the VMS ones at $90 are pretty reasonable I'd say.
I got some wheels studs thinking the knurl size didn't matter, it does matter. The studs won't seat properly in the hub with the wrong knurl
