Default Dead ISF (no start condition)

Car is a 08 Isf with 76k miles. Dealer maintained and service. Most recent service was atf flush 1k miles ago.

Monday drove the car for the day, got home at 6pm,parked in the garage and went into the house. At 10pm noticed dome light was on, tried to start the car, did not start. Figured a dead battery. Tuesday afternoon tried to jump start the car, no luck. Only thing the turns on are head lights and horn, nothing else. Checked all engine compartment fuses, all good. Got the car towed to dealer (tripple A couldnt jump it either.)

At the dealer all day today, wednesday, and they cant figure it out. They have checked the battery, alternator, starter and ecu. Service adviser states that he hasnt seen this before.

Any insigths from the forum guys?

I have more questions than answers. Does the ignition light turn green when the key is in the car and you press the brake?

No lights at all. I even tried putting the key fob on the start button thinking batterywasdead on the key fob.

Similar thing happened to me a couple months ago. Dome light on all night, next morning no signs of life, only headlights and horn worked. Luckily a jump start did it. 1 hr later dead again. Got a brand new battery from lexus and everything was back to normal. .... i know maybe you did but ...did you try replacing the battery?

Sometimes when you try to jumpstart the car you blow the main fuse wich could cause the problem you have. But the dealer sould have checked it already.

Sometimes I've heard that you have to smash the brake pedal down on first start after battery replacement. Did you try that?

Anyone got a wiring diagram would be interesting, its got to be relay fuse or connection somewhere let us know what they find.

Of course I don't know for sure, but it sure does sound like something simple like a bad battery, a bad battery connection, a blown fuse or relay, etc.
Be careful, sounds awful fishy that the dealership "can't find the issue"....Quite honestly that doesn't make sense. I've seen dealers and mechanics/shops pull this tactic just to make the issue seem like a HUGE ordeal, when they fixed or could have fixed the "issue" within a few mins.
Good luck with it though. Definitely doesn't sound like anything major from what you described. Keep us updated.

On another note, did they put some ramps under the front tires when they put her on the flatbed? Looks like at that angle they would have scraped the crap out of the front end pulling her up

A while back I had a brake lamp out and the car wouldn't start. Lexus said it's a safety feature.

Do the brake lights come on when you press on the brakes?

Lexus has a very detailed troubleshooting flowchart for this on TIS. It is very odd the dealership techs "can't figure it out" when they have a very structured approach to no start conditions. Definitely sounds like a fuse/relay/switch issue though. If you weren't in the San Diego area, I'd be really curious to take a look at it, but I have no plans to be in California any time soon.
