Snow Tires on Stock Wheels
This will be the first winter with the F and I'm wondering what size tires your running on your stock wheels. Im having trouble finding 255/35/19 (Stock Size) for the rear.
Also thinking Blizzak unless you guys have good luck with others
Thanks guys!

depends of how much snow you get, here in Colorado we get lots of it. i drive my F all year long including winter but i have gotten 18 inch wheels so i would be able to get real winter tires. the performance winter tires on the 19 inch wheels are not good for deep snow, slushy or ice

I've thought about purchasing a set of 18 inch wheels as well. I did find a set of snow tires in original sizes (225/255) on tire rack. They are Yokohama Iceguard IG52C. Might purchase these and give em a shot.

You can run 225 all the way around in stock wheels (according to tire rack) and that would actually be better than trying to get a wider track. The skinnier tires put the same weight over a smaller contact patch which should be better than the opposite for driving in the snow.

I have read that before. I noticed 225 didn't have many studless ice and snow options, only performance winter tires. I went up to 245/40/19 and found a Michelin X-Ice XI3. Pretty good reviews so it may be worth a shot!

That's a pretty good idea. After I did the search by vehicle I wondered what narrower than factory sizes would be available. Have to do another search. Pretty sure it's actually going to snow this year unlike the last few.

If your interested I have a set of 2011 isf wheels with tpms, blizzacks with 2 short winters on them mounted, balanced ready to go. I literally just bought a gtr this morning and haven't even listed my extra wheels yet

We went with Blizzaks on cheap 18" wheels, worked awesome the two winters we were up in Wisconsin, car never got stuck even with heavy snow.. You should be able to do 18's on cheap wheels for less than buying the 19" tires.
