About 3 years ago i purchased a 2012 ISF, it was by far the funnest car i have owned. I sold it about a year ago and definitely regretted doing so.
I found a 2008 ISF with 107k miles on it at a auction last week and purchased it. It was in an accident that caused damaged to the front passenger side, but everything was fixed. Feels good to be back in one again. I fixed the bottom exhaust tips today. Best of all, i stole it at $13,000!!
Ya know, it's funny, how some ex-owners gravitate back to the ISF again. My F may turn out to be the car that I've owned the longest, and I bought my first car back in 1957 So far that title belongs to my '93 SC300 5MT that I owned for 10 years before giving it away to my son-in-law, who promptly sold it. That was a BIG mistake
Welcome back! It's interesting that you went from a newer MY to an older one..but hey, that's a steal of a price like you said. I'd like to know your take on the '12 suspension compared to the '08.
Not bad at $13k. Welcome back to the F family. IMO, the differences between your previous newer F to one in the first year are all subjective, with many parts changed with aftermarket support currently. Some will prefer certain functions that were not available in 08 vs 12, but as I've always said- the shell remains the same. The engine is the same. Have fun with this F! Any mods planned?
I saw that ad on CL, I think it was advertised for $10k . I was wondering what kind of shape that car was in. Congrats! Welcome back. Did it really come from a impound yard? That is what the add implied.

The interior surprisingly is in very good condition. Only issue i have noticed so far is the recirculate/outside air mode is sticking, the dome shape flap (where the cabin filter is) gets stuck in outside air mode. I have just been driving in recirculate mode. Any idea how to fix this? The speedo and rpm needles dont light up anymore. Other then that, the interior is pretty flawless.
There is a lot of clips missing from under the car holding on the fender lining and the side skirts, i ziptied most of them until i can find new clips/retainers.

The 2012 suspension is way better. 2008 is a lot harsher ride for sure, might be because of the wheel/tire combo. Also, im pretty sure its lowered.

It was actually a public auction. They mainly had junk cars that were going for $250-$300. I was the only bidder on this car!

Yep, bought it from Deer Valley auto auction. From what i was told, DPS impounded the car because it was involved in illegal drug activities.

Only thing i noticed was the cold air intake and the magnaflow exhaust. Im going to get the secondary cats cut off this week sometime.
