Default Two Questions: Bluetooth Audio Options, "Secret" button tricks

I have an 08 with ML, I know there is no direct Bluetooth audio streaming but what options are there for adapters. I've seen the Grom module mentioned in another thread, but when I looked at it, it appears that I have to use the Bluetooth mic that comes with it instead of the factory setup? Basically I'm just tired of having to connect an aux cable and a charging cable to my phone (Android), and looking to see what less obtrusive options there are. What do you guys use as far as wireless streaming that negates another cable coming out of the center console?

Second question. I read that if you hold down the Traction Control button that it turns off completely instead of automatically reengaging at 35MPH or whatever the cutoff is. Is there any other "tricks" like this that are not obvious or not listed somewhere? I read in one place that there's a "Sport+" mode but not sure of the validity of this.

Thanks!

They make blue tooth dongles that plug into aux ports that you can use for your phone. They're relatively cheap. I haven't used one in the ISF because it's not my DD but my 4Runner I do and have had no ill issues.

That's what I was hoping for. Suggestions for the good ones? The F is my daily, so dealing with multiple cords is no fun

I have the grom in my 08. Works well for bluetooth streaming music. I have the usb cable ran up to the ashtray but don't use it. I charge mine from the center console with one of those micro cig chargers that fits with my lid closed. Occasionally I have to go into the settings on my phone and 'choose' the grom device again because I think it gets confused between the actual car bluetooth sync and the grom device on startup. Calls come thru the regular car audio setup and switches just fine. I think the mic is for nonbluethooth enabled cars I didnt use it. In bluetooth (aux?) mode notifications sounds and app stuff like waze plays on the speakers just fine.

As far as I know, there is no Sport+ mode, unfortunately. However, with the new tunes coming out, there may be an option to add some new maps including a more aggressive sport mode. In regards to the traction/stability control, once again, as far as I know doing the long hold on the traction control turns off stability and tones down the electronic brake force distribution system, the e-brake diff system, brake assist, but ABS is still fully on. I'm probably wrong about a the details, but essentially you cannot turn it fully off. BUT some people here say you can do the pedal dance which will turn everything off, but I tried to do it and i couldn't get the traction fully off, but it's very possible I'm doing it wrong.

Have a Grom in my GX and I can vouch with LT here that it's a good unit. Think the GX one was just under $200.

Any of the cheapo blue tooth dongle should work. Mine doesn't have a name on it but I remember it being less than $30.

Long pressing the Traction Control button will turn off traction control and VSC but it will keep the eLSD enabled. The pedal dance will also turn off the eLSD function:

I'm using a vaistech sl-3b that allows bluetooth streaming and control through the nav screen just like a cd changer. It works pretty well I would say. I was using a griffin bluetooth adapter but it cut in and out especially in cold weather. I like the vaistech one much better but it's obviously more expensive.

I just bought a grom bt3 last week. Works perfectly. You plug it in the back of your radio and connects it to your phone right away! Use the code "SNOW20" for a $20 off!
