So for about a week I've been telling myself I'm going to 'take that stupid leaf' out from inside the lower grill area that's stuck agains the radiator. Well today I did, and it turns out it's a pretty sizeable chunk of wood that busted right through the plastic lower grille. Big enough for me to get my arm all the way back to the radiator to pull it out.
Guess my next mod will be a wire mesh lower grille so big debris like that can't bust through as easily.
Mine is cracked too. Seems like the smallest of objects break the brittle plastic, a replacement lower grill is pretty cheap I was looking at buying another one.
Oh damn! I thought I was the only one. Fortunately mine isn't cracked or broken, but I remember the small piece of plywood that smacked dead on my driver side lower grill. It actually took the bottom right clip off the bumper and it was whobbling all the way home. I just connected it back and luckily it wasn't broken. Scraped the paint pretty bad though...
When I hit INDE there were these swarms of these grasshoppers or locust that were literally 5-6" long and gummed up the radiator and the wheel wells. It was a mess. I kept thinking how the hell they got in there. And when I cleaned it all out I also found that mesh grille to be a joke. Really flimsy and flexible with big openings
every time i clean my car it seems that grill is gonna break so easy, it is really weak. i wonder if someone has come up with a better solution to replace it
