Exclamation Need Some Quick Help on RB XT910 Pad installation

So I'm in the process of installing Figs 2-piece rotors along side the Racing Brake XT910 Pads.

Just noticed the pads have a notch on one side. Is this supposed to indicate up or down? and if so what is the correct way of installing this pad??

Well going by this thread: http://figsengineering.blogspot.com/...akes-with.html It seems like on the outside pad the notch stays on top and on the inside pads the notch is located at the bottom. (They used Hawk pads but still same notch location concept should apply).

If anyone believes otherwise let me know.

Its for electronic wear indicators, which our car does not have. They do not indicate up or down. The pad can only go in one way.

Another tip if you are having issues getting guide pins out, is to sand them down with some sand paper to get the oxidation off of them.

Those pads are a universal pad made for Brembo calipers and fit certain MB models that have a brake wear sensor that utilizes the notch. It has no meaning or use in an ISF. My Frodo DS2500s also have the notch.

Brakes made specifically for the ISF do not have the notch.

thanks for the feedback, yeah just realized they can only go in one way as all of them are notched in the same place.

Post pics of those two piece rotors! Congrats! I know they're a pretty penny! Please review the rotors and pads as you gain mileage! I look forward to these one day...

Sorry I missed this but glad you got it sorted out. As mentioned this is the FSMI backing plate that is common with many MB applications so it has the side mounted wear sensor. Just let me know how everything works out after bed in.
