Default Do you need your head shield?
on the under side of the hood is a black heat shield is this needed i see a lot of people removing them at meets and what not.

I cutout the slots where my hood vents are in the liner, I'd leave it honestly it will help with paint conservation by not getting direct heat, specially in fl

Yes they are 2012+ Mustang gt bmc carbon vents, modeled after the trd hood look

My car doesn't currently have the hood liner. Maybe it was removed already, or it never had one (early vin #...000815, m/y 2008). Could you provide a pic?

Its more sound insulation than heat, no worry for the paint. Removed that from my previous cars with no issue at all
