Default Replacement Headlights

I live in S FL and between the constant sun and salt air my head lights have taken a beating and are starting to turn yellow and cloud. I have had friends do restoration on their headlights on for it to last only about a month or 2. I was contemplating buying a set of the headlights from eBay. Has anyone installed a set on their F?

same here. I had the headlights opened and restored the lense then painted black on the hosing. you can add protection film something like xpel etc. on the lense to reduce the oxidation.

If you buy another set, it'll only happen again. You can always have a body shop polish it out, but you polish away the UV protection. You have to coat it with a UV sealant for it to last a bit longer.

Zen, how long does the film last?

Hey G9N, on my last car, I ran into the issue described being in S FL as well until I ran into Brett, the headlight guy. His process is different than any others and the best part is, he comes to you and he's very inexpensive. I had the car another six months before selling it and the headlights still looked like new. If you're interested, check him out at http://www.theheadlightguy.us/

The film should last 3-5 yrs depends on how you maintain them down the road. I had these installed by a professional shop and the installer recommend to spray liquid wax on them from time to time to make them last longer. Also, the film reduces the rock/chip road debris damages on the head light lense.
