Default Hyper-Fest 2015 @VIR

I just wanted to get a thread started to see who is going to Hyper-Fest on 02 May 2015 at VIR. I am going to book my room at VIR tomorrow and will be staying Thursday night through Saturday night (30APR-02MAY). Let me know if you are coming and maybe we can get a few ISF owners together to hang out.

I am planning on doing a few of the 50 minute track sessions while I'm there. Has anybody been to Hyper-fest before? Any info on your past experiences with the event would be appreciated.

Bump...anyone? I know somebody here has been to one of these before...even if you're not going, a little information on your experience would be great.

I'll be there with my e36 M3 S54 GTS2 race car and my e46 330CI spec e46/GTS2 race car as well. Got a garage and a paddock room as well. A bunch of my NASA racer friends will be having a party. No ISF. Race cars only.

Well if you see a dark grey ISF it's probably me.

Hyperfest was a blast. I really enjoyed hanging out with Bigcloud and some of his NASA buddies.

I took the ISF on a hyperdrive, which consisted of about 20 minutes track time on the Patriot inner VIR track. It was a tighter track than is ideal for the ISF, but I really enjoyed it. I would have loved to let the ISF stretch its legs on the full course, but I didn't get a NASA membership soon enough to sign up for a HPD event.

The instructor was very impressed with the ISF, commenting how surprised he was at the level of grip, composure over the gators, level of acceleration, and braking ability.

There were so many race cars and other vehicle to drool over. I can't wait to do another event like this.

Gymkata, you should come to MPACT on July 11th @ Pocono Raceway and you can do a whole day 4 or 5 sessions 20min each at Pocono Raceay infield track. I love that one, it is not too fast (115mph) and lots of turns, plus a huge meet and car show. They'll have some modded GTR's, Supras, BMW's doing roll-racing on the ovals straight.

If you'd like to run with NASA you can register, that day because it is shared with other event, prices are really cheap for the whole day.

Glad you enjoyed Hyper-Fest, never been to one, but I see you enjoyed the hyperdrive, should definitely sign up for the track day.

BTW, I had a chance to go check out the TMI shop and TMI Ariel Atom assembly area at VIR while I was there. I think I'm in love. Those things are AWESOME. I didn't get any pics of the new cars being built, but did snap a few of race spec Ariel Atoms being maintained and/or fixed in the shop.

The highest level Ariel Atom has a 365 hp turbo 2.4l honda engine and weighs only 1350 lbs!!! While it isn't build for for the straight line, it is listed as being able to do a 10.7 1/4 mile, and a prototype that didn't have the finalized chassis tuning lapped VIR at 1:58 after only a few tries. Crazy. It has traction control but no ABS.

Here's a few more pics I shot while at Hyperfest. The first pic of the ISF shows our view of the track from the Villas where we stayed. It was a very nice location.
