I went to look at and test drove my first IS-F today since I've been seriously looking the past couple months. I could not find one on the trunk lid and want to verify that there is not a vin tag on the trunk lid.
This is what I have found through searching
1. Driver fender (roll back weatherstripping on each side near center of engine bay)
2. Passenger fender
3. Hood (center near leading edge)
4. Driver front door(open door and look on lower edge)
5. Passenger front door
6. Driver rear door (open door and look on lower edge)
7. Passenger rear door
8. Driver rear fender (need to remove trunk molding)
9. Passenger rear fender
10. Trunk lid (under interior molding above pull handle)
11. Front crash bar
I'm assuming there is also a vin tag on the front and rear bumper crash bar under the bumper covers but are probably nearly impossible to look at without removing the bumper covers.
This particular car had a clean carfax but was missing a vin tag on the front fender, so I walked away. Just an FYI to those looking, do not trust a carfax 100%
EDIT: there is indeed a vin tag on the trunk lid under the trim cover -

That's where I got that list from. The member who posted it said they did not "think" there was one on the trunk lid. I would prefer a definitive yes or no. I find it kind of odd they said no since every other Toyota/Lexus my family and myself have owned have had one on the trunk/hatch.
Can someone please give me a more clear description or picture of where the rear fender vin tags are located in the trunk? The seller I am communicating with cannot locate them, and I did not look at them on the previous car I saw because I did not know where they were located either.
i did send the seller the pictures located here http://imgur.com/a/ay673 (the last picture is what i need to locate)
thank you

Reason: Clarifying rear fender vin stickers
I just looked mine over completely. There is no VIN tag visible with the trim in place. I did not remove the trim, but I did pull it back all the way around and still did not see a tag.

Lobux,
Was that the trunk lid you looked at?
Also I wasn't very clear on my last post I want to know about the rear fender vin stickers (not the trunk lid) that are behind the trunk trim supposedly
There is no vin # located inside the trunk lid anywhere, I checked a random 2010 CPO for sale at one point last summer along with my previous 2009 & the same goes for my current 2013.
For anyone else interested there is indeed a vin tag on the trunk lid.
I have not been brave enough yet to disassemble the entire trunk trim to find out exactly where the rear fender vin stickers are located.
+1. I was replacing the trunk release switch and the VIN tag is most definitely exactly where 93MSB circled. You will need to remove the trim cover to see it clearly.
