So question about brake pads
If my front set of Yellow Stuff ship in time for my track day but the rear set doesn't, can I track with the YS pads in the front and the nearly-new OEM pads in the rear, or will that cause a problem?
I see you already have things resolved but I'll give you my answer to your original question incase anyone else runs into this. The short answer is yes you can do it but its not exactly ideal. Different pad compounds obviously generate different coefficients of friction but there is much more to the story- different torque curves, ramp rates, friction rise/fall with temperature etc. Modern ABS systems are smart enough help to compensate if the variance is within reason (<10% or so) but more than that and the difference will be more apparent. The largest problem with running the OEM compound on a track will be the wear. They will wear *very* quickly if you are heating them up beyond their maximum operating temperature.
Have you used EBC Yellowstuff pads for track duty before or will this be your first time? The YS is roughly equivalent to a Ferodo DS2500 or Carbotech XP8… I think some will get away with using those but others might not on the IS-F. It will depend primarily on what tires you're using, tracks your running and of course the biggest factor, the driver. I'm curious how they end up working for you and how much they wear. Please keep us updated!

Interesting...Carbotech describes the XP8 pads as working well with open wheel (which I'm interpreting as lighter) cars. From what I've read on the YS pads, they're used with heavier cars- which is one reason I chose them. I'll report back after the 21st!

^^^I ran them on my NSX and they were great! But that car is also 800lbs lighter than the F. They were a little squeaky at times but not all the time. I never tried the yellow stuff pads that's why I'm so interested to see how they work on the F. Overall the EBC pads seem like quality street and track pads from what I've read and my own experience.
