Default has anyone opened their headlights?

I've seen the color changing halos and I would like to do that to my car, but I believe the only way is too open up the headlight enclosure and install the halos. has anyone been successful doing this? I'm afraid if I open them up, I wont get them to seal right. I just don't want any condensation. I'm assuming there is no other way to get the headlights to change color?

I'm going to agree, I don't think adding halo's is the right move for this car. To each their own though.

I'm actually thinking of opening my headlights or having someone do it I mean and modifying the stock LED running lights (I have a '12) to a smaller LED and more of them. Wish that it looked a bit smoother, like where you can't see each individual LED. More of just a solid line. Not sure if I will actually do it though need to ask OSS (http://www.ossdesigns.net/) their thoughts. Again not halo want to keep the stock look.

upon further contemplation, I think it would look cool if I didn't have the DRL LED's. but if my halos are changing color and the LED's are white, maybe that wouldn't look as cool as I thought. pre LED lights though would look cool.

Please do not do this, it is the tackiest thing you could possibly do to this car (short of putting a gigantic wing on the trunk).

I had my stock 08 headlights opened and modified with zero issues. I'm contemplating changing the lenses out to clear lenses on my 2013 lights.

I saw a blue ISF on targa trophy a few years back that had a 3/4 halo on his high beam shrouds.. looked pretty cool but i still wouldn't do it.. only because its associated with BMW's.

Reaper21, not to hijack but curious what you did to your headlights? I'm kinda interested in have the LED lights changed to smaller LED's (kinda like this http://www.ossdesigns.net/) except following the factory lines of the checkmark kinda look. Replacing the orange reflector would be cool too, assuming you also got rid of the orange turn bulb ie egg yok look. I have a '12 btw.

I wouldn't do it, its very very very easy to have condensation issues later on.

HOWEVER! If you really want to try it out, if i were you, keep your OEM headlights somewhere else and buy some aftermarket ones to play with or if someone is selling some used OEM ones for a decent price.

Also when you are Baking your Headlights, heat them up really gradually and really watch the corners of your headlights, make sure they arent too close to the burners. I've turned the corners of a set of headlights, Medium Well one time....

After you crack them open, clean out all the old seal as best as you can. Then don't skimp on the sealant, get the best quality stuff and reseal theres an OEM Spec stuff you can buy i just forgot the name, that your best bet for avoiding condensation.

Its a fun weekend project, if you do decide to mod your headlights.
