I'm using an amazon purchased adapter, and lose my tachometer on the dash when the app connects? Is this normal? I've never used something like this before.

EDIT: I'm going to try a different protocol in the settings based on that thread in the prius forums and see what happens.

Only reason I bought it is because i though i read on here that some people use it. I will try again later today with a different setting in the app and see if it works correctly. Besides the tach on the dash not working, everything else worked fine on the app.

I love using the adapter and app.. It not only helps diagnose your vehicle but iv checked probably 12 people's cars informing them what was going on.. They all thought I was a genius.. If I could only turn off my damn tpms light...

So I tried it again and it has nothing to do with the app. As soon as I plug in the obd device, the tach drops to zero. As soon as I remove it, the tag jumps back up to normal operation. I think I need the adapter mentioned above.

Update: I received a refund for my obd bluetooth adapter and bought a different one, better quality. Now i can datalog, and view sensors without any issue with my tachometer not working. Is there any specific setting that you guys use to get the app to update fastest? i tried some runs but the time readings may be off a bit.

here is the adapter I purchased: https://www.amazon.com/BAFX-Products...etooth+adapter

I have been using this one for a few years now. I used it with my '08 ISF, 02 Mustang GT, '10 Mazda3, 04 Volvo XC70 and a couple other cars and never had any issues with it. I am however questioning the accuracy of the 0-60mph time. Someone was saying that it calculates your 0-60 based on your GPS coordinates, and if it is the case, any delay would cause a second or so difference.

I'm sure the delay affects the 0-60 if it uses a GPS signal. I wonder if this could be calculated with a datalog file and vehicle speed sensor.

Pretty sure 0-60 is tracked using your phones accelerometer (still probably not that accurate)

This, based on what he said. For iphone you need a Wi-Fi dongle.

Default OBD2 for 2001Ls430

Will the OBD2 work on a 2001 ls430 (3uz fe) 4.3lt v8? And if it works where do I insert it? I assume it goes into the ECU computer box?

There should be an obd2 service port under your driver's side dashboard somewhere.
