Default Stuck in 2nd gear

Sorry to revive an old thread however I just got my ISF 3 weeks ago and this issue got me pretty worried. I would like to hear if there has been a recall or a fix on this issue. While in Drive (D), the tranny wouldn’t shift past 2nd for a couple of seconds. It went as high as 4.5RMP and wouldn’t shift, the RPM kept going up. Letting go off the gas did not help, the RMP just stood where it was and slowly decreased with the speed. This lasted for a few seconds. I must admit that I was just pulling out of the driveway and she wasn’t properly warmed up (16 degrees temp or 60fh)

If you pulled out hard then it's possible that the car was keeping you in the same gear as it's designed to do (basically keeping you in the power band in case you want to get on it again). Typically takes a few seconds of coasting at the same speed for it to up-shift.

Were you in sport mode? If so, I have noticed that it holds the rev's longer then typical "non-sport" driving.

Recall? Why would this be a recall?

It's normal when the gearbox is cold. Mine always does this for the first quarter mile from my house unless I am very soft with the throttle.

This exact incident has happened to me after driving my F for an hour and the vehicle was at normal temp.

It was disturbing. Dealer didn't find anything unusual. It hasn't happened since, though.

the car holds the gears like that, its normal if u take off aggressively and then let off to let it shift, its part of the cars nature( kinda holds the gears longer like that as if you was going into a corner so no down shift would occur to upset the car during the corner) its part of the way lexus programmed the ECU.
