I'm putting together a sub woofer system and I could use some pros & cons on running a power cable to the trunk. As I see it I have 2 choices under the car or through the cabin.

My other concern is that when I remove the battery how will that affect the ML system. I assume I'll lose presets, etc. I don't know if it will be disabled.

I appreciate your input.

I ran mine through the cabin, I didn't have to remove battery, just cut a small slice in the grommet behind the batt and push it through to cabin.

Thanks-That settles it. Through the cabin it goes.

But, do you know if disconnecting the battery will disable the ML/Nav system?

no, it shouldn't really bother it, may loose your radio station preset's and have to reset clock.

And I believe your windows and sunroof will have to be recalibrated too..

Dang! Removing the battery would give me alot of room. I have other cables to route for laser shifters. Oh well, I'll just have to work around it.
Thanks...

What is this recalibrating windows and sunroof? I had my battery disconnected and didn't have any issues with either.

Also, it may vary depending on different versions of the NAV, but for my 2010 I lost my radio station, Nav, and seating positon presets, but other settings, such as treble, bass, and bluetooth, remained.
